Welcome to ShortTyme.
ShortTyme is an online social community that allows members to share experiences, opinions, complaints, stories, commentary, and other user-generated content through areas including “All The Mess” and “Messy Rooms.”
Our message is simple:
GET YOUR MESS OFF YOUR CHEST.
But when you post your mess, you are responsible for it.
By accessing ShortTyme, creating an account, or posting, uploading, commenting, sharing, or otherwise submitting content, you agree to these Terms of Use.
ShortTyme provides the platform. Members provide the content.
You are solely responsible for everything you post, upload, publish, transmit, comment, share, or otherwise make available through ShortTyme (“User Content”).
This includes, without limitation:
You—not ShortTyme—are responsible for the accuracy, legality, appropriateness, and consequences of your User Content.
User Content is created by individual ShortTyme members.
Unless expressly identified as official ShortTyme content, User Content does not represent the statements, opinions, positions, beliefs, or views of ShortTyme or its owners, operators, employees, contractors, affiliates, or representatives.
ShortTyme does not guarantee that User Content is:
ShortTyme generally does not independently investigate or verify statements made by members.
The appearance of User Content on ShortTyme does not constitute ShortTyme's endorsement, approval, adoption, or verification of that content.
ShortTyme is designed to allow people to discuss their experiences and express opinions.
However, freedom to express yourself does not eliminate your responsibility for what you say.
When presenting something as a fact, you should have a reasonable basis for believing that it is true.
You may not knowingly post false factual statements about another person, business, organization, employer, public official, or other party.
You may not use ShortTyme to defame another person or entity or otherwise violate applicable law.
Members should distinguish personal opinions from assertions of fact where appropriate.
For example:
Opinion:
“In my opinion, that was the worst customer service I've ever received.”
is different from making a specific factual accusation of criminal or unlawful conduct.
ShortTyme does not determine the legal truth of disputes between members and third parties.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to prohibit lawful, honest consumer reviews or opinions. Federal law restricts certain form-contract provisions that prohibit or penalize honest consumer reviews, while still permitting restrictions on unlawful, confidential, or private information.
ShortTyme may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms.
You may not use ShortTyme to post or engage in:

Targeted harassment, stalking, intimidation, or unlawful abuse.

Knowingly false factual statements or other unlawful defamatory content.

Self-promotion
Do not use ShortTyme primarily to promote your business, products, services, website, social-media account, channel, or other commercial venture unless expressly authorized.
ShortTyme exists for conversation.
It is not a free advertising platform.
Unless ShortTyme provides a specific promotional or advertising feature, members may not turn posts or comments into advertisements.
Talking about your work or business as part of a genuine conversation is different from soliciting customers.
For example:
Allowed:
“My business has been extremely slow this month. Is anyone else dealing with this?”
Not Allowed:
“I own a catering company. DM me to place your orders this weekend.”
ShortTyme determines, in its reasonable discretion, whether content constitutes prohibited solicitation, spam, advertising, or self-promotion under these Terms.
ShortTyme reserves the right, subject to applicable law, to:
We may take action with or without prior warning when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users or third parties, comply with law, address security or abuse, or protect ShortTyme and its services.
Serious violations may result in immediate account termination.
ShortTyme is not obligated to provide repeated warnings before taking action.
ShortTyme may use human moderation, automated systems, member reports, or other methods to administer the platform.
However, ShortTyme does not undertake an obligation to manually review or verify every post before publication.
The fact that content remains available on ShortTyme does not mean ShortTyme has approved, verified, or endorsed it.
If you believe content violates these Terms or your legal rights, you may report it to ShortTyme through the reporting mechanism or contact information provided by ShortTyme.
A report does not automatically establish that the reported content is unlawful.
ShortTyme may review reports and take action it considers appropriate consistent with applicable law and these Terms.
Where appropriate, ShortTyme may request additional information from the reporting party.
ShortTyme provides a platform for communication.
ShortTyme is not a party to disputes arising between members or between a member and another person, employer, business, organization, neighbor, romantic partner, family member, political organization, government entity, or other third party merely because the dispute is discussed on ShortTyme.
Members are responsible for their own interactions and User Content.
You retain ownership of intellectual-property rights you hold in your original User Content.
By posting User Content to ShortTyme, you grant ShortTyme a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, format, and otherwise use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, provide, secure, moderate, promote, and improve ShortTyme, subject to applicable law and ShortTyme's Privacy Policy.
This license does not transfer ownership of your User Content to ShortTyme.
By submitting User Content, you represent and warrant that:
ShortTyme respects intellectual-property rights.
Users may not upload content that infringes another party's copyright.
ShortTyme may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material and may terminate repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
ShortTyme should maintain a separate DMCA/Copyright Policy containing the information necessary for copyright owners to submit notices of claimed infringement.
For U.S. DMCA safe-harbor purposes, qualifying services that host user content generally need to designate a DMCA agent with the U.S. Copyright Office, publish the agent's information publicly, maintain a repeat-infringer policy, and respond appropriately to qualifying infringement notices.
ShortTyme does not guarantee the identity, honesty, intentions, conduct, background, or statements of any member.
Exercise appropriate judgment when interacting with people online.
Do not rely solely on another member's ShortTyme post when making important financial, legal, employment, medical, safety, or other significant decisions.
Members may reference third-party businesses, websites, products, services, or organizations.
ShortTyme does not control and is not responsible for third-party services merely because they are mentioned or linked through the platform.
Accessing third-party services is at your own discretion and subject to those third parties' terms and policies.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SHORTTYME AND ITS SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”
SHORTTYME MAKES NO GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT USER CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, RELIABLE, OR APPROPRIATE.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SHORTTYME AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND REPRESENTATIVES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO:
Any limitations in these Terms apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ShortTyme and its owners, operators, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and representatives from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, and reasonable costs and attorneys' fees arising from or relating to:
This provision applies only to the extent enforceable under applicable law.
ShortTyme provides technology through which members communicate.
Members—not ShortTyme—choose what they submit.
Nothing in these Terms should be interpreted as ShortTyme adopting a member's statements merely because ShortTyme hosts, displays, moderates, categorizes, removes, restricts, or otherwise administers User Content.
You must meet the minimum age required by applicable law and ShortTyme's published eligibility requirements to create an account.
Do not create an account if applicable law prohibits you from using the service.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity occurring through your account to the extent permitted by law.
Notify ShortTyme promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may stop using ShortTyme at any time.
Where ShortTyme provides account-deletion functionality, you may request deletion subject to applicable legal, security, fraud-prevention, backup, and record-retention requirements described in ShortTyme's Privacy Policy.
ShortTyme may modify its features, Messy Rooms, policies, or these Terms from time to time.
When required by law, ShortTyme will provide appropriate notice of material changes.
Continued use after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
ShortTyme's collection and handling of personal information is governed by its Privacy Policy, which should be read together with these Terms.
